This is the third downtown concept from Shaskan and her husband Trent, who also own 3rd Street Market and the nearby snack bar, Hopscotch. Tre Mogli opened last summer at 401 South Main St., in a historic, two-story building that dates back to the early 1900s. The restaurant was known for its romantic atmosphere, impressive wine and cocktail list, cool upstairs lounge, and handmade pastas. That will no longer be installed at the base of Hotel Revel, which is owned by the same landlord as the constantly turning over 2000 W. With menu items that included this colossal meatball, Tre Mogli had earned its fair share of accolades, including being named one of this publication's Best New Restaurants in 2022. Both the restaurant and speakeasy will have the added luxury of soaring 30-foot-high ceilings, and the scope of Cast & Hook will include a mezzanine raw bar that is being installed as well. For restaurant and bar owners to not only be surviving but thriving during this unprecedented coronavirus pandemic is fun to report. At first glance, the menu offers mostly standard bar fare, with an abundance of fried dishes and numerous burger variations—all cooked in duck fat—created in a "comfort-based kitchen," as the website states.

A new wine bar has opened downtown, courtesy of Fort Worth chef Dena Shaskan. Cheekily named Wines from a Broad, it features wines made exclusively by female winemakers. Shaskan taste-tested and approved each of the wine bar’s 150 wines, which are available by the glass. There are also non-boozy cocktails, plus a small food menu, with items such as cheese and fruit plates.

Trident's other properties include Wishbone & Flynt and its accompanying bar, The Amber Room. The restaurant had been the subject of numerous noise complaints from nearby residents because of the several concerts it hosted throughout the year, particularly in the spring and summer. Owners and company officials met several times with Willow Park city leaders and came before citizens and the city council a few times to address the issue. When the building reopens in August, it will be the Trident Group’s Berry St. Ice House. Expect it be a bar and grill with an Airstream dessert trailer, and plenty of yard games.

For his latest restaurant, Fort Worth chef Stefon Rishel headed due west to the up-and-coming area of Willow Park. Fort Worth moves are being made — and the city’s restaurant scene is changing with flair. Trident’s other restaurants are in full swing however, with Wishbone & Flynt and the soon to open TreMogli Cucina Italiana just next door.

“The emphasis really is on family friendly,” Trident principal Kyle Bryson tells PaperCity. The inside of Berry St. Ice House can accommodate up to 80 people and the expansive back lawn can easily welcome 200 or more. The trio of Stefon Rishel, who serves as executive chef, and his two business partners, Kyle Bryson and Wallace Owens, formed Trident Restaurant Group in 2017.
Their first endeavor produced Wishbone & Flynt and its side-door speakeasy The Amber Room, which both debuted in January on Bryan Avenue in Fort Worth. The four-cheese grilled cheese sandwich was the standout. Its generous size and homemade sourdough base provided ample room for the blend of provolone, white cheddar, American, and goat cheese. The combination of flavors, highlighted by the tangy goat cheese, transformed this classic dish into a culinary masterpiece. The spartan building is being redesigned to suit the burgeoning barbecue business.
